The single-threaded performance is outstanding, better than some of Intel's 10th Gen H-series processors, like the i7-10750H in the Dell Alienware m15 R3 (2020) we tested. The Intel Core i7-1165G7 in our HP ENVY x360 scores well in the Geekbench 5 benchmarks.

There's also a 1080p OLED option available, but like most OLEDs, it may suffer from permanent burn-in. There are multiple display options however, we don't recommend the 250 cd/m² display as it doesn't get bright enough to combat glare, and it's advertised as having 45% NTSC coverage, which means most content will look washed out. If you have a heavily multi-threaded workload, we recommend an AMD CPU because they have better multi-core performance. You can configure the RAM up to a maximum of 16GB and the storage up to 1TB. All CPU configurations are capable of handling light to moderately intensive tasks. You can configure the laptop with an Intel 11th Gen or AMD Ryzen 5000 series CPU. We tested the 13.3 inch HP ENVY x360 laptop with an Intel Core i7-1165G7 CPU, Intel Iris Xe integrated GPU, 8GB of RAM, 512GB of storage, and a 1080p 60Hz IPS display with an advertised brightness of 1000 cd/m². Unfortunately, it's only available with integrated GPUs, so it isn't ideal for graphically demanding workloads, like video editing or gaming. The Intel Core i7-1165G7 in our unit is powerful enough to handle CPU-intensive tasks, but it throttles under load.

It has a great keyboard, a decent touchpad, and a very good selection of ports. Our unit has a 1000 cd/m² display that's well-suited for bright settings, as well as an integrated privacy filter to hide the content of your screen from prying eyes.

It has a metal chassis that feels well-built, with a 360-degree hinge that lets you flip the screen around for use as a tablet. It's very portable, and it has excellent battery life, enough to get you through a typical workday of light productivity and video playback on a full charge. The HP ENVY x360 13 (2020) is a convertible 2-in-1 laptop available in a wide variety of configurations.
